Branch/Complex Managers

Branch Team Consulting Process

Being a field leader, whether at the branch, complex, regional or divisional level, can simultaneously be one of the most challenging and rewarding undertakings of your life. Especially, if like me, you left the autonomy and control of “doing it yourself” as a successful financial advisor, before moving into the much more bureaucratic world of “doing it through others” as a manager. The good news is, when you strip away all of the “white noise”, at its essence you are still simply running a business and leading people. In this program we will help you break down the various components of that process, prioritize and sequence a customized implementation strategy, (just like we do for our Elite Advisory Teams), that should ultimately lead to higher growth and profitability, and an enterprise that attracts and retains top talent.

The Management Consulting Service for Branch/Complex Managers is a highly personalized engagement which I offer only to select Management Teams around the country. The experience and structure are inspired by the 4-Phase process used by physicians: diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow up. The 4-phase process I use with high performance teams is: discovery, analysis, recommendations, and follow up. I have delineated each of these phases below.

Phase 1 - Discovery

Phase 2 - Analysis

Phase 3 - Recommendations

Phase 4 - Follow Up

process Breakdown

1. Benchmark Your Existing Enterprise

  • The first step in any journey is to know exactly where you are today.
  • We break your enterprise into its four component parts: New Business Development, fostering and sustaining a Comprehensive Wealth Management Culture, building an Exceptional Branch Service Model, and implementing a robust and finely tuned Practice management and Personal Development Structure.
  • We then take these four interrelated components and assign 10 best practice variables to each. This will not only give you a very clear picture of where you are in each component, but also spur your thinking on what best practices you might want to consider incorporating into your enterprise to improve performance.

Phase 1 - Discovery

  • Phase 1 - Discovery

    • Key team advisors and staff meet to complete the comprehensive discovery document • I will review the document prior to the deep discovery zoom calls • 1hr Zoom discovery call with each advisor (may need more time with key principles) to add nuance and insight into the discovery document • 30 min Zoom discovery call with each staff person to glean their personal experience and insight • Each team member completes DISC profile

  • Step 2

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisi cing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut abore et dolore magna

  • Step 3

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisi cing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut abore et dolore magna

  • Step 4

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisi cing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut abore et dolore magna

process Breakdown

2. Create an Exceptional Branch Service Model

  • Once you have completed the benchmarking exercise, we then take a deep dive into your branch service model.
  • The best way to attract and retain top talent, is to create a branch that everyone in your community wants to join and no one in your branch wants to leave.
  • The first step is to segment your branch based on both quantitative and qualitative variables.
  • Next is create a branch service model that reflects that segmentation.
  • And finally develop a highly personalized branch coaching capability.
process Breakdown

3. Enhance Communication, Collaboration, and Performance

  • Learn to leverage the DISC profile within your own team as well as your branch teams (if you are at a regional or divisional level)
  • DISC is designed to help individuals and teams communicate and collaborate effectively.
  • DISC can also help you align roles and responsibilities to leverage the strengths of your team members more effectively.
process Breakdown

4. Expand Your Human Capacity

  • This exercise will help you better deploy your team and individual members for greatest impact.
  • Help each person isolate their 3-5 critical responsibilities that really moved the needle.
  • Begin to automate, delegate, or discontinue as many non-essentials as possible for each member of your team.
process Breakdown

5. Fill the Gaps

  • Here we give you a relatively exhaustive list of roles and responsibilities within each of the four components of your enterprise.
  • This tool will help you fill any essential gaps that you might have in your existing enterprise.
  • And having been through the DISC and capacity exercises, begin to fill those gaps with the right people.
process Breakdown

6. Create an Annual Implementation Plan

  • Here we help you establish and prioritize the key activities and results you wish to accomplish over the next year.
  • You can then assign responsibility for your various priorities, activities, and results to the appropriate team member.
  • Our tool we’ll help you monitor progress throughout the year.

What Our Clients Say

Paul has done an extraordinary job with creating the team training program. In the almost 20 years with the firm and attending countless meetings......that Chicago meeting was far and away the best. There was no fluff .....plenty of solid ideas, actionable concepts and a "how to" approach in getting started. I hope the plan is for more, continued team training. Paul Blease has hit an out of the ballpark home run.

Barron’s Advisor Workshop

Absolutely best meeting i have attended in 10 yrs at this firm. I would even say life changing. I guess it's a case on "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear", -- so many of the things I do, used to do or would like to do were affirmed. this is as focused as I've been in 10 years. I've revised my 5 yr plan to a goal of at least tripling my business by yr end 2008. Stay tuned.

Team Leader Consulting

Paul realizes that being successful is not one dimensional. You must live a balanced life. He is a great speaker, makes it interesting, and I can tell he really cares about us. I really enjoyed this conference and look forward to being invited to future team training meetings.

Team Leader Presentation

Paul, I am not sure how to say this, but I wanted you to know how much I receive from our relationship…I only hope that I can in some way provide support for you in return. Specifically I appreciate your ability to see the larger picture, the essence of the issue and the trueness of your vision or how you are so strong and consistent in your principles. See what 8 hours on a plane can do to ya! Seriously, I appreciate the time I spend with you.

Professional Development Director Consulting

Specifically, I want to mention Paul Blease and his approach and philosophies to this business. He is a great addition to our firm and my life. His holistic approach to how we run and manage our lives is helping not only my business, but me as an individual (and my family). The principles and idea’s that he presents are the most valuable I’ve heard in 18 years of my career. It is very refreshing and quite different from many other firms in our industry I am sure. I can only hope that the masses in the firm get the benefit of hearing from Paul.
